About Our Nursery

WOODLANDS DAY NURSERY will be celebrating 29 years of childcare in October 2026.

We opened our doors in October 1997 – Woodlands Day Nursery is a warm, welcoming, vibrant nursery situated on the grounds of Goole hospital. A short walk to Goole town centre with good transport link by road, train or bus. The nursery is situated  in a large single storey building with an abundance of secure outdoor learning environment, overlooking the rural surroundings.

Open 7:15am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday , 50 weeks of the year , only closed for Bank Holiday and Christmas.

We can accommodate 48  children across 3 rooms:-

Fox Cubs – 4months to 18months   Squirrels – 19months to 29months   Badgers 30month to 60months

Our curriculum aim is to equip children with the skills and knowledge they need to explore and understand the world around them. Using the children’s own interests to enable their drive to explore and have a go.

Our intent is for children to leave us confident in:-

Knowing themselves; good fine and gross motor skills; growing language and communication skills and to have an increasing curiosity about the world around them.

We implement this by – sharing books, stories, music and songs; by role model, behaviour and language; building relationships with children and their families; providing activities, resources and experiences that promote and develop physical skills. We provide opportunities  for children to explore the world around them, promote independence and learning experiences in everyday tasks.

All staff have high expectations for the children and provide enabling environments for all ages and stages of their development.

We strive to have excellent relationships with children and their families, creating bonds that give children the room to thrive.

Play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing. In turn, this helps them develop the ability to concentrate.

We have a very affordable pricing plan and you may qualify for 30 hrs free please ring us for further advice.
