About Our Nursery
CONGRATULATIONS – WELBOURN GARDENS DAY NURSERY is celebrating 17 wonderful years of childcare since May 2006
Welbourn Gardens Day Nursery is a purpose built nursery within Lincoln North Sure Start and Young People’s Centre. The nursery opened on the 22nd May 2006 to serve the families and children in the surrounding areas. The Nursery is registered for 41 children aged 2 to 5 years. We are open from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday term time only, closing for Bank Holidays and School holidays. All vouchers such as Computershare, Care 4, Sodexo etc. are accepted.
The Nursery is on one level and has been planned to ensure we are able to offer a safe and secure environment for all children, including children with additional needs. All staff are highly trained to help support all children’s play and learning. The nursery is decorated to create a calm and relaxing environment. We have an excellent security system in place with CCTV ensuring no one can enter the building without being identified.
We receive 15 hours nursery education funding for 3 and 4 yr olds, and for some eligible 2yr olds, for 38 weeks per year. Some 3 and 4 year old children may be eligible for an additional 15 hours nursery education funding, for more information please discuss this with the Nursery Manager.

Play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing. In turn, this helps them develop the ability to concentrate.
