CONGRATULATIONS – WOODLANDS DAY NURSERY celebrates 26 wonderful years of childcare this October 2023
The Woodlands Day Nursery and Pre School opened its doors in October 1997. This bright, cheery and busy nursery occupies a purpose built single story building set in a large secure outdoor play area with lots of outdoor activities, overlooking a rural environment. The warm and welcoming atmosphere ensures the children are settled and secure.
The building comprises a bright and colourful baby room with lots of toys to play with and a separate sleep room and access to the outside area. A toddler room with lots of toys and varied activities, areas for relaxing and sleeping, with access to our outdoor play area. A spacious open plan area for the 2-4 year olds, with doors opening onto a paved covered area leading into the outdoor play area. All have the opportunity to experience lots of learning activities and purposeful play in the different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
We receive 15 hours nursery education funding for 3 and 4 yr olds, and for some eligible 9 month olds and 2yr olds, for 38 weeks per year. Some 3 and 4 year old children may be eligible for an additional 15 hours nursery education funding, for more information please discuss this with the Nursery Manager.

Play is one of the main ways in which children learn. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it’s fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing. In turn, this helps them develop the ability to concentrate.
