‘Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in it’s own right, and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities as they grow up’ (DfES, 2007:2)
This sets out what we will aim to achieve for your child, by providing high quality care and learning experiences which are child centered we can treat every child as an individual by identifying any particular needs and requirements.
Our fully trained, qualified and dedicated staff ensure that your child is prepared for the future using a play based curriculum (EYFS).
By working in partnership with parents we will provide a holistic approach to your child’s growth and development ensuring that children, parents and families have the best possible experience from our nurseries.
Our Nursery Vision
We pride ourselves on being inclusive settings. The nursery vision which is promoted by the Nursery teams is that each child is unique with individual needs; we are committed to ensuring that each child reaches their full potential
HEATWAVE IMMINENT ☀️🥵
As you are all probably aware, amber weather warnings have been issued in our region this week for extreme heat. We wanted to reassure you that at present all of our nurseries will be open as usual and we will be taking steps to keep children as cool and comfortable as possible during this time. Please dress your children in light coloured, loose clothing and ensure you pack plenty of extras, Please also ensure they have sun hats.
Steps we will be taking at our nurseries include:
– Keeping children indoors during peak hours
– Suncream and hats outdoors
– Lots of ice and water play
– Keeping rooms as well ventilated as possible
– Ice lollies available
– Ensuring children remain hydrated with plenty of fluids.
We will monitor the situation and keep a close eye on the children in our care. Children cannot control their body temperature as efficiently as adults during hot weather because they do not sweat as much and so can be at risk of ill-health from heat. We may ask you to come and collect your child if they develop signs or heat-stoke or heat stress.
Here is the guidance we have been issued. I have attached it for your information as it has some useful advice and information on it as to what to do if you child becomes ill in the heat. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/heatwave-plan-for-england/looking-after-children-and-those-in-early-years-settings-during-heatwaves-for-teachers-and-professionals?utm_source=14%20July%202022%20C19&utm_medium=Daily%20Email%20C19&utm_campaign=DfE%20C19

We are going through challenging times as the nation battles against the spread of COVID -19.
I would like to say how proud I am of the response from our nursery teams and you, our parents and carers. We are extremely saddened by the situation and the uncertainty which surrounds us at the moment, but ultimately, ensuring the health and wellbeing of our families, staff and our communities is paramount.
All of our nurseries have put in place robust procedures and risk assessments for the protection of parents, children and staff. These are available to see at each nursery.
Update for July 2022: All of our 13 nurseries are open and are able to offer childcare, both privately paid for hours/sessions and the Government funded hours for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
